We extended the roof of the main structure beyond the exterior wall to create a private, covered deck area off the primary bedroom. This gives the owners or guests direct access to the abundant nature outside while maintaining some protection from the elements.
The detached garage has a fully functional living space above it. This will serve as a private space for the clients’ son when they’re on site, and it extends the rentable area and boosts profit margin when they’re not using the property.
The entryway of the main home will be wrapped in locally sourced white pine. This brings the local nature inside, aligns with the clients’ Scandinavian design preferences, and instantly teases the rich, warm feel the rest of the interior offers.

The interior of the home draws inspiration from a coastal Swedish bunkhouse while remaining true to the locality with materials that are native to the Woodstock area. The space is elegant without feeling like a gallery, and neutral colors and unobtrusive textures let the views through the large picture windows and sliding doors take center stage.
