At HUTS, we have years of experience in rural home design and sustainable land use. We’ve designed everything from small homes to communities, but all of our projects always need a little more space. Whether it’s the small cabin that needs a guest room. Or, the land parcel that needs something between a tent and a home. Or, the house that needs a beautiful little space tucked far back in the woods with a fireplace and a desk and a chair - somewhere to really think and focus.

We designed these little cabins for all the reasons we know they’re needed. And we designed them with love, for you to live a big life in a small space.

The Cottage
Our classic 10’ x 20’ ADU is a study in usability and function. The plan provides dedicated sleeping spaces for four, a full galley kitchen, living and dining spaces, a wood-burning stove, and a separate powder room.

Without any dedicated sleeping areas on the ground floor, this 10’ x 20’ cabin is designed to maximize shared living space. Perfect to host a dinner party, game night or indoor-outdoor event, with space in the small loft to spend the night.

The Bunkhouse

Homesteaders
Did you buy a parcel of land, but have no plan or budget in place yet to build a full home on it? Or, maybe you have no plan to do at all - you just want to be as close as possible to nature with a more permanent structure to call home.

Do you have an existing home that’s not big enough to host family and friends? Or, do you want to add rental revenue to your property, without giving up your primary residence or building a completely new house?

Construction Waiters
You bought land and are working with HUTS (or someone else) on the design and construction of your homes. While the build is underway, you want a permanent structure where you can stay and get to know your land.
